“Chicken Dance” Toys Recalled Over Possible Hearing Damage Hazards

According to a series of news agencies, Dan-Dee “Chicken Dance” Tap Dance Easter Chick toys are being recalled over a potential issue that could pose increased hearing damage hazards to children.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has stated that the toys play music that could reach decibel levels that exceed the federal standard, posing a health risk to children. About 1,000 units of these toys have been sold nationwide. The company has stated that the furry yellow chick with multi-colored Easter egg shells can be identified by a label that reads “DanDee Collector’s Choice”. The following batch number and date can also identify the affected products: 120613670 and 11/2012.

The toys should not be used anymore. Affected units must be returned to the place of purchase.
