FDA Recalls Dietary Supplement Over Undeclared Substance

Post On 08-07-2013

According to several news agencies, CTV Best Group has issued an announcement related to all units of the BEST SLIM 40 Pills dietary supplements after it was noted that these products were discovered to have been produced with sibutramine, which is a controlled substance that has been banned from the U.S. market since October 2010.

The Food and Drug Administration has reported that while these products haven’t been linked to any illnesses or adverse reactions, the company wants to avoid potential health risks in the future.

The federal agency ha stated that sibutramine is used in the treatment of obesity and might expose users to the risks associated with the increase of blood pressure or pulse rate. Some patients could also be exposed to risks linked to congestive heart failure, stroke or asshythmias. The substance has been withdrawn from U.S. marketplace and because it isn’t listed as an ingredient in the dietary supplement label, it was only identified after the FDA tested the drug.
