Personal Injury Hazard Linked to Pierce Vehicle Recall

According to a series of news reports, certain Pierce vehicles are being recalled over a possible personal injury hazard.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced that the affected vehicles include the 200 through 2009 Enforcer and the 2000 through 2010 Lance, Dash and Arrow XT vehicle models. The vehicles were manufactured between October 1, 2000 and May 31, 2010.

According to the official recall statement published by the NHTSA, the vehicles affected by this recall are fitted with trunnion ears that may have been fitted with cab tilt cylinders pivot that could become fatigued, increasing the risk of failure. If a person is in the path of the moving cab when the component fails, the risk of injury increases.
